Other than my insanely supportive and loving husband and the raising of our 3 amazing kids; ❤️ my true passions are cooking, gardening, and knitting. Knitting? Yup, stay with me… I love to cook and bake; always have; cookies, pies, sweets & treats, soups or smoothies, appy’s & entrees, I love food. And I love sharing the stories and recipes that go along with them.
I also have a backyard garden, since there’s just nothing better than cooking with fresh ingredients. I’ll tell you a secret though…I have a love/hate relationship with that garden. 🤨 One day it’s my peaceful, happy place and the next…well…that’s for another blog post!😉
Now how does knitting fit in here? I started about a year ago (thank you YouTube) when I needed a mental break from the stresses of everyday life, and now I’m hooked! (really Steeyn? Again with the pun?!? Sorry…couldn’t help myself.) Good old fashioned knitting. 🧶 Who knew something that seemed SO generational is actually a big…and I don’t just mean big, I mean HUGE, it’s a HUGE community. Think I’m kidding? Finally, I’m a bit of a grammar geek. 🔤🤓 When you talk with me, I’m probably spelling the words of our conversation in my head…I know, it’s weird, but it’s the truth! 💁🏼♀️ Another weird thing about me, I love the ellipses. There’s something about those 3 little dots…they make me smile… It’s the little things, I guess.
Before I forget, I adore coffee, music, Hallmark Christmas movies, black & white photography, laughter, classic cocktails, wine🍷 and of course, my warm-hearted, always keeping-me-guessing family, so you’ll no doubt see these subjects sprinkled throughout my posts. One last thing, I forgot to mention the bows. I’ve been told I might have an unhealthy obsession with ribbon.🤣 From hairbows to holiday decorations… stand still long enough in my home, and you’ll probably end up with a bow attached! 🎀

PS – Where did ‘Steeyn come from? Well, when my nephew 1st started talking, he dubbed me “Aunt Steen”. We have no idea why. 🤷♀️ Maybe it was just shorter and easier for him. Who knows what goes through the mind of a toddler. Anyway, we all thought it was adorable and nearly 30 years later…I’m still Aunt Steen! Many family members have taken to the nickname and truthfully, I’ve grown quite fond of it. So, that’s where it comes from… Simply ‘Steeyn. Oh…and I added the “y” because I like it! I hope you do too!😊
